My song is the chorus of peepers rising from the vernal ponds on those first warm, muggy dusks of spring…

...the hum and buzz coming from wildflowers of a summer meadow as a distant rumble of thunder approaches; the echoing calls of the geese in the skies as they migrate south in autumn; the low hoot of an owl carrying across the stark forest and over the snowy hills on a moonlit winter's night.

It’s also the laughter and giggles erupting from open wide smiles of my most loved ones; the crackle of a camp fire under the stars; the mixer beating a scrumptiously sweet recipe to be baked into treats; the smooth and gentle sound of rolling out ink for printmaking.

These are the kinds of small, simple things that are music to my heart; the things that inspire me to pause and really appreciate all of life around me, and to not take for granted even the littlest of things that make me smile and feel at peace — for at the end of the day it's these small and simple things that add up to mean the most in my life, and have brought to me so much healing, harmony, and hope time and time again.

This blog is a place to share this gratitude of those small and simple things I encounter here at my home in central Pennsylvania. Whether it's a snippet of nature's beauty, planting in the garden, a tasty new recipe to try, finding a unique treasure at a yard sale, or simply something that caught my eye to capture with my camera, I'd like to share these moments and hope it inspires discovering all the small and simple things to be grateful for that surround us if we just take the time to notice. Thanks so much for dropping by!
