A note from Laura:
The home base where I cultivate Yarrow Hill from is located on the traditional lands of the Lenape, Shawnee, Susquehannock, and Iroquois Nations. I would like to acknowledge the history of this land — this land which for thousands of years was inhabited, grown, and nurtured by Indigenous Peoples who practiced reciprocal relationships with it, and then were horrifically treated and forcibly removed when invaded by my ancestral lineage of European colonizers. And this land which since that invasion has endured abuse through centuries of conscious and unconscious selfish, unsustainable cultural practices that prioritize profit over care, or rather, short-term sole survival over long-term collective survival. It is through deep reflection and by the guidance of Indigenous Knowledge and wisdom that I strive to help heal the land and all of us living here from this traumatic history. I aim to evolve and adapt for a healthier future by tapping into the flow of sustainable growth for all in this present time, which forever is rooted in compassion, honesty, respect, interconnectedness, harmony, and love. It is an infinite pursuit. And it is the the lesson I’m learning from my main teacher, Yarrow.
